Senior Calendar
Reporting credits obtained outside of North
Credits earned in programs outside of North need to be submitted to the Registrar in the Counseling Office by Tuesday May 27th.
Graduation Requirements
- 24 credits in all areas
- Complete your (PEP) Personalized Education Plan. Your counselor will verify if the student’s PEP is complete.
Student Dues and Fees
Outstanding dues and fees:
- Must be paid by Wednesday June 4th by 4:00pm
- Can result in loss of privileges to attend events such as Senior Breakfast and/or participation in Graduation.
Delivery of Caps and Gowns
Thursday May 1st & 2nd during lunch.
Please speak with your counselor if you need assistance with a cap and gown for graduation.
Senior Locker Decorations
Saturday, May 17th
10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. In the Main Hall of North Salem. Locker sizes are 10 x 28.
College Signing Day
Thursday, May 15th During lunch in the North Salem Library.
For all seniors no matter what status you are in. If you have questions, you can go to room 110 with Adrian Rodriguez and Paola Garcia Martinez.
Graduation Student Speaker Auditions
- The auditions are open for all graduating seniors.
- Students can obtain the audition packet from Mr. Davis.
· Application deadlines and audition dates will be announced shortly.
- Auditions will take place in the viking court conference room.
Senior Sunset
Students only: Friday, May 30th at the Football stadium from 7:30-9:00pm.
Bring chairs and blankets!

Seniors BRING caps and gowns this day
- 7:30 am Doors Open
- 8:00 am Senior Breakfast (Main gym)*
- We will begin promptly and will also be recognizing honors and achievements. Dress nice, no need to wear your cap and gown until after breakfast. Breakfast provided; all seniors are asked to attend. Following the breakfast, seniors will go on their final Viking Voyage through the halls.

Senior Locker Clean-out
Lockers must be cleared of all personal and school properties, by Monday, June 2nd.
Senior pranks are NOT allowed
Any serious discipline offense may result in not walking at graduation.

GRADUATION CEREMONY
Friday, June 6th at 6:00pm at the North Salem High School Stadium.
Seniors report no later than 4:30 pm.
Gates open at 5pm for all guests.
-Each guest needs a ticket
-Children under the age of 2 do not require a ticket
GRADUATION TICKETS
10 tickets per graduate. Will receive tickets after rehearsal.
- Extra Tickets: Must fill out a form to request extra tickets. This is not guaranteed. If after all requests have been filled, the remaining tickets will be handed out 1 at a time after rehearsal. The form will be available MAY 1st. Student email/log in MUST be used.
GRADUATION GUESTS
- No balloons, noise makers, inflatables or umbrellas allowed in the stadium (this also applies to graduates)
- While it’s a sentimental and celebratory time, keep in mind that graduates can only wear/hold SK approved items during the ceremony.
GRADUATION REHEARSAL
Mandatory
Friday, June 6 @ 8:00 a.m.
- Morning of graduation on the FB Field.
- Wear comfortable clothes, bring sunscreen and sunglasses (water?)
- Walking partner and order is set.
- Name pronunciation.
- You will also receive your tickets for the ceremony.

Adequate seating and parking at our stadium are provided for people with disabilities.
- Parking at graduation can be challenging.
- Carpooling is encouraged

Caps, Gowns, other Adornments
Yes, you can decorate your cap!
Cap decoration:
- Cannot affect the structure of the cap.
- No taller than an inch in height.
- Must be school appropriate.
Breakdown
- Required Attire: All graduating seniors are required to wear caps and gowns, along with weather-appropriate attire underneath.
- Adornments: Students are allowed to wear cords, medals, or stoles depending on their clubs/organizations/honor societies.
- Other Allowed Adornments: Hawaiian leis are allowed to be worn, and Native American feathers, beadings, and garments are also permitted. We ask that LARGE Leis are worn only after the ceremony. Student needs to able to move freely and unrestricted.
- Prohibited Items: Students are not allowed to carry objects such as flowers, stuffed animals, air horns, balloons, or inflatables.
Commencement Pictures
A professional photographer from Lifetouch will take a picture of each graduate as diplomas are received.
Diplomas
- As seniors exit the stage, diplomas will be waiting at a designated table.
- Only diploma covers will be given during the commencement ceremony.
Grad Party (Not sponsored by North Salem High School)
Wednesday, June 4th 6pm-10pm at The Rec in Keizer $10
All North Seniors are welcome
Food and drinks are provided. Games: pool, foosball, poker and others.
