Testing Day on Thursday, October 9th- Early Release

Thursday, October 9th, North Salem High School will be participating in Statewide Testing, and we want to ensure all families are informed and prepared for the day. 
All students should get a good night sleep the night before and eat a good breakfast the morning of. Students are encouraged to bring snacks to consume throughout the day.

📆 Testing Schedule & Early Release

• Date: Thursday, October 9th
• Time:
  • 8:30 AM – Students report to their testing locations to complete pre-test paperwork
  • 9:00 AM – All testing begins
  • 12:00 PM – Testing concludes & lunch is served
  • 12:45 PM – Early release. Buses depart at 1:00 PM

🧪 Grade-Level Testing Information

• 9th Grade: PSAT 8/9
• 10th Grade: Pre-ACT (paper & pencil test)
• 11th Grade: PSAT
• 12th Grade:
  • SAT (for those who signed up in advance), or
  • PEP Completion and College/Career Fair in the West Commons and Gym

🏫 Testing Locations

• Most students will test in their CCR class.
• Students testing elsewhere will receive an email notification in advance with specific instructions.

🔌 What to Bring

• 9th, 11th, and 12th graders: Fully charged Chromebook. There will not be replacement Chromebooks available, so students without a school issued device will participate in study hall in the library during the testing window.
• 10th graders: All testing will be done on paper and pencil (no device needed).

📵 Phones & Devices

• All phones must be turned off and secured in Yondr pouches during testing.
• No access to phones or personal devices is allowed during the test.

🕘 Late Arrivals & Appointments

• Students arriving after 9:00 AM will be directed to the library for study hall and will not be permitted to enter testing.
• Students cannot be checked-out during testing, so students with appointments during the testing window will also remain in the library for study hall while they are at North.
