Welcome back to a new school year! A lot has changed since last school year. Construction contractors worked hard all summer and made great progress on improvements funded by the 2018 bond.

There’s still a lot of work to be done however, and our school will be an active construction site during the school year. Here are a few important reminders.

#1 – Stay Out of the Construction Zone!

Safety measures, such as signs, fences and barriers, are in place to make sure school can operate safely and construction can progress as quickly as possible. Ignoring signs and distracting workers can create a safety hazard and has the potential to slow down the progress of construction. Please read and obey all signs and stay out of construction areas!

#2 – Student Parking is at Salem First Church of the Nazarene, 1550 Market St. NE

Our neighbors at Salem First Church of the Nazarene have graciously volunteered to host student parking during construction. The church is less than a half mile from the school and takes less than eight minutes to walk from the church to school. Safety is our top priority, and locating student parking away from campus greatly reduces mixing of construction and student traffic.

#3 – Be a Polite Parking Neighbor!

While parking on the public streets in the neighborhood is legal, please don’t do it! Most streets close to the school only allow 90-minute parking so you could get a ticket. Also, it is impolite to crowd the neighborhood streets with extra cars. If you are unable to park in the student lot and must park in the public streets short-term, be sure to park politely.

  • Don’t block neighbors’ driveways
  • Leave space between cars
  • Be respectful and courteous to neighbors

Our neighbors must be able to safely come and go from their homes as needed. Remember, this is where they live.
