Join us for Safe Halloween – October 31; 5:00 pm-6:30 pm

This year we will have a true Safe Halloween at North Salem High School on Monday, Oct. 31. The annual event provides a safe, dry place for children in the NSHS community to trick or treat. Each year, clubs, sports, and individual students sign up to decorate a doorway on the first floor of the school, dress up in fun costumes, and hand out candy to trick-or treaters. While many groups help out each year, some of the faithful favorites include NSHS Cross Country, FBLA, JROTC, and MEChA. In recent years, the event has grown significantly, spanning the entire first floor main

hallway and side wings. The growth in participation has been a welcome sight, but has come with a drawback. Last year, despite collecting more candy than any year in recent memory, there were so many trick-or-treaters that the candy actually ran out about 20 minutes early. What should you learn from that? Well, be sure to arrive early this year! Students interested in signing up for a door to decorate, or students who are just interested in helping out at the event, should contact Mr. Price in room 229 by Oct. 25. Supervised trick-or-treaters are welcome from 5:00 pm- 6:30 pm. In order to allow for the most trick-or-treaters as possible, attendees are allowed to go through the school only one time. Hope to see you there!
